Thanks, that was a good read, though I cringe at the obligatory 'postcolonial' caveats — it's as though anything published today must pay obeisance to current obsessions by pointing out something 'problematic'. Barley himself left anthropology because the discipline became corrupted with such stuff. We talked about it a little in our podcast conversation re: 'cultural relativism'.
