Going into listening to this, I was sure this was a book I wouldn’t like. By the end, I ordered a copy.

I think you'll find it interesting. I'd come across stories of slavery while researching Malta and traveling the central Sahara, but there was so much I didn't know. The contemporary examples are particularly shocking.

Fascinating conversation Ryan. An important subject. It would be interesting to know more about the Muslim conquest of India which took part over centuries. I remember in Will Durant’s Story of civilization volume one he wrote about that and he mentioned that upwards of 10000 temples were destroyed during the years of conquest. We’ve seen similar destruction in recent times.

John Keay's India: A History is a good overview, but it doesn't focus specifically on the destruction of temples and the iconoclastic frenzy of the conquests.
